WHAT IT DOES: For setting makeup (foundation, blush, concealer, etc.), there’s nothing better than loose transparent mineral powder. It gives you the most even, long-lasting, natural-looking finish without ever settling in creases. Because it’s so very sheer, it doesn’t provide the same amount of coverage as pressed powder, but you can’t beat it for its staying power, its velvety finish, and how well it absorbs oil.
Because it’s transparent, it works for a wide variety of skin tones, but it is not the best match for the darkest of skin tones.
WHY WE LOVE IT: We love starting our day with this loose powder because of the flattering, soft-focus finish it gives. Plus, it’s the ultimate in shine-management!
We then use pressed powder for any touch-ups during the day (because you can’t beat a pressed powder in a compact for convenience).
