Resolving Shopping Cart and Log-in Issues on Internet Explorer

Are you having problems adding items to your shopping cart or logging in to your account? If you are using Internet Explorer, we are aware of the problem and have made a fix. However, your internet browser may have loaded an older version without the fix. To resolve this issue, please following these instructions below OR using a browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox which does not have this issue.

Clear Internet Explorer 8 (IE8 & 9) Browsing History & Cache

Sometimes when Internet Explorer isn’t displaying correctly or not connecting to web pages like it should, you may need to clear the cache or those temporary internet files. Internet Explorer has a nice window that will allow you to delete other browsing history such as cookies, history of recent pages, and passwords.

Clearing the cache

This how to will give you the steps to delete all or individual sets of files.
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. IE 8: From the Tools menu choose Internet Options.
IE 9: In the upper right corner, click the small gear icon (to the right of the star icon) and choose Internet Options
3. On the General tab, under Browsing history, click Delete.
4. Un-check the Preserve Favorites website data box.
5. Check the Temporary Internet files, Cookies, and History boxes.
6. The Form data, Passwords, and inPrivate Filtering data boxes may be left un-checked. You can check them to delete this data if you so choose.
7. Click Delete.
8. When finished, click OK to return to your Internet Explorer window.
9. Close the Internet Explorer window and reopen.

Preventing future caching issues

To reduce some potential caching issues, it's best to have Internet Explorer set to request the latest version of the page rather than relying on a cached copy. To do this:
1. From the Tools menu choose Internet Options.
2. On the General tab, under Browsing history, click Settings.
3. Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages" make sure "Every time I visit the webpage" is selected.
4. Click the OK button.

Additional browser cache troubleshooting steps

After performing the above steps, do a "Shift+Refresh" on the page to see if it resolves the issue.

If this does not work, a workaround (to "really" clear the cache) is to temporarily drop into "Compatibility View" to refresh the page. To do this:
1. From the Tools menu choose Compatibility View Settings.
2. Check the last checkbox (Display all websites in Compatibility View)
3. Click Close

The site should now refresh with the absolute latest copy from the server. You'll need to undo that Compatibility View setting, since this renders everything by simulating an older version of Internet Explorer. To undo this setting:
1. From the Tools menu choose Compatibility View Settings.
2. Uncheck the last checkbox (Display all websites in Compatibility View)
3. Click Close
